| | win 7 x86 4GB RAM only 2.6 usable Hello, I recently bought an Acer Aspire one laptop with 4GB RAM memory installed. I 've installed windows 7 x86. It says that there are ony 2.6 GB usable. Can anyone tell me what to do. Because, as far as I know win 7 should recognize more than 2.6GB even in 32 bit version. I wouldn't want to re-install the os... Thanks in advance |

| | Hello Kenobi, That would be about right. Since it's 32-bit, it will actually only use about 3.6 GB out of the 4 GB with .4 GB reserved for hardware. Since it's a laptop, you will have an integrated graphics chip that uses allocated RAM for it's memory usage. In this case, most likely 1 GB. This leaves you the 2.6 GB usable.  |
