Firstly you can name the program you used that caused your problems.
Secondly don't use that program again. It will probably just make the same mess all over again.
Many of these so called fix all, tune up, registry fixers programs don't infect your computer with viruses and such they just destroy Windows 7 files and registry.

Hey egoran, some viruses can not be removed even with a fresh install but it does not appear that you had a Virus just some corrupted system files or were missing. I think they were replaced with the re-install, you are probably good to go !!

Layback bear The program I've used is Wise Care 365. Yup, I've learned my lesson the hard way, no more third party maintenance progs for me
Flashh4 Thanks for the tips, I'll keep using my PC as it is, and if it starts messing up again I know you'll be there

Cheers guys and keep up the good work!

As long as you stick closely to the tools and methods suggested in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 you will get and keep a perfect Win7 install.
