    Administrator privilleges on Windows 7

I am trying to run the sfc.exe/scannow process, but keep getting a message that tells me that I need administrator privileges to run it. I thought that I had activated administrator privileges, but cannot seem to get logged on as administrator. How can I determine whether or not administrator privileges are actually available, and how do I get logged on.

    Hello Kenward,

To run a SFC scan you would need to open an elevated command prompt instead. Right click on command prompt shortcut, and click on "Run as administrator".

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    Hope this helps, :)

Go to the start menu, and type "cmd" in the search box. This opens the command prompt. Type the following in it:
    HTML Code:
    runas /user:Administrator /open program.exe path/to/file
If that doesn't work, right click the program, and select "run as administrator".
