more ram = slower computer?

Skrillek, adding ram does not by itself speed up your computer. It does allow many programs to run faster if they use a lot of memory and don't have to swap to disk due to low memory.

You shouldn't need to do anything with the clock speed skrillek.Thats for O.C.'ing. I'm a little worried by your mention of "I always fix registy" though. Have you done anything to it since you installed the new RAM? Double check the new RAM for same speeds as suggested by Bearcatrp, ALL the numbers have to match.

I just looked at your zip files and the sticks aren't matching at all, as far as CAS Latency,RAS to CAS,RAS Precharge,tRAS or tRC. So basically you're timings doesn't match. Your machine probably IS running slower now than before and I'd bet that you'll soon start getting a few blue screens if you haven't already.

+1 on the mis-matched RAM. It will run at the slowest compatible speed for both. And I could be mistaken but it appears you may have them installed in the wrong slots. You'll need to verify that with your motherboard specs.

Will mismatched ram work? Sometimes.
Will mismatched ram work correctly? NO
Should you buy mismatched ram and give it a try. You can do what ever you want to but to me it's a waste of money and time. Four gigs of ram that works correctly is better than eight gigs that doesn't work correctly together.

It all depends on who you bought it from and the conditions or contract you bought it under. I doesn't hurt to try. You would have better luck returning it with the purpose of applying the refund to a new purchase of the correct ram.
