Windows 7: I have a question about the Defrag feature?

As far as your original question though, I agree with Brink here. Once a month is fine unless you do an awful lot of downloading and/or deleting etc. The more a regular HDD works i.e. spins, the more wear and tear naturally. For most normal users weekly is overkill. IMHO of course.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you all for your help I have most of my files already stored in my dropbox folder so that I don't overwhelm my hard drive with adding/deleting pictures that I have uploaded from my cellphone. I will defrag my system every month instead.

Auslogics defrag question
Hi everyone, i recently downloaded Auslogics defrag program and when i clicked the check disk button i got these screenshots. In my experience in the past, clicking this type of stuff caused me to get malware, any opinions about this?

1) I Noticed that my defrag is set at 1:am every wednesday in windows 7 64 bit. I never really turn on my computer at 1:am. Defrag question
When I go into Defrag screen, I have 3 choices. HP C, Factory Image and System. The computer shows that system is 12% fragmented, but when I try to defrag it, nothing happens. Is there a reason for this and is there a way to defrag the system?
