Please visit here for the ini (if you are into vLite and can use it to make your own build)- x64 iNis - Windows Live

If you would like to learn about vLite check my tutorial out (link in sig). Also if demands are made I will remake the ini for the Ultimate edition. Also x86 hopefully will be up very soon

Looks like people have been discussing my work a bit here..:)

None of the above can be added via vLite when using vLite on Windows 7.

    Hi there
an easier solution might be to use W7 starter edition and then change / customize the start up / logon screens.

Way back at W7 beta stage there were tutorials on customising the startup and logon screens.

The only advantages in using Ultimate in your case is that you can RDP to the computer if you need to (Home editions only work with RDP as a CLIENT) and you can choose / install installation language.

    Cheers

One small problem with Starter is the fact that the wallpaper is prevented from being changed...going as far as hash-checking to to make sure that never happens. I do know that Rafiel Riveria and others were/are working on correcting that issue.

Also note that no Aero is present in the starter (if that matters to you)

Programs just won't happen, reg keys might and drivers can easily happen (vLite just can't do it for 7)

...if you are willing to venture into the unknown

Deploying Windows 7 - Part 2: Using DISM

*Injecting* drivers into an install with DISM is easy but is only reccomended for Advanced Users Only

    I knew that was coming...

Everyone asks about 7Lite and tbh the creator of vLite doesn't want to make it. The source code for vLite is also closed source. Now me and others are attempting to make a replacement (with the latter making more progress than me at the moment) but truth be told the necessity for such an app is almost not necessary.

    These are the reasons why
    1. Windows 7 is hardly bloated so the "minimalists" builds of 7 won't provide mesurable increases to performance over a fresh install
    2. *Adding to above* Superfetch defeats the "Use as little RAM as possible" argument so having high amounts of RAM cached is a great thing
    3. DISM incorporates drivers, LPs, updates, and more. Now a bat/app could be made to do this process but it wouldn't be a 7Lite *so to speak*
    4. Programs don't count due to the fact that it just isn't possible

Post back if you need help with the DISM commands
