Windows 7 stuck at "Starting Windows" NO fix on these forums helps

My PC has been a little temperamental the last few weeks, but it has finally given up on me.

Now my problem is different from others stated on this forum (that I've found). When I boot my PC normally, it gets as far as "Starting Windows..." with the logo there, then stops. For a while it would just take a while and go through "Preparing Desktop..." then I'd have to fix that every couple days, but now it's stopped entirely.

I've followed as many of the fixes I've found on here, but nothing has helped.

Where my problem differs is I am able to enter Safe Mode without issue. In fact I'm posting this from "Safe Mode with Networking" right now. However I cannot boot normally.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. Can anyone PLEASE help me. I've put a lot of money in this computer, and not only that, I use it for all of my university work and I can't afford to replace it.

Please, I NEED a fix desperately...

The steps will eventually lead to backing up of your personal data and files, and then a complete clean install of Windows 7. The steps also cover hardware problems related to booting issues.

I have had this exact same problem except I couldn't even boot in safe mode! I have done numerous clean installs but after 2/3 weeks or so the problem pops up again beginning to think it could be a hardware fault?

i have. there is no issue with regards to malware or viruses and when i try to run SFC /SCANNOW i am unable to as the startup repair fails and it wont perform the SFC /SCANNOW until the startup repair completes.

Boot to your System Recovery Options and then use Command Prompt at Startup and type:

    Code:
    sfc /scannow
You may also want to boot Startup Repair from here also, if Windows is starting Startup Repair automatically itself.

Recovery environment is a fixed environmnet ot troubleshoot. That should work always... independend of hardware.

But maybe you have faulty memory!! Check your memory using memtest86 or Memory Diagnostics Tool

Let it run at least 5 hours. Report back if errors are reported

If your going to test memory, then run at least 7-8 passes with MemTest86+ overnight since it will take a while to complete.
