Windows startup has become very slow
When fired up, my PC seems to go through the start up process OK. I sign in, my desktop loads and then any icon, start menu item, key stroke takes between 2 and 4 minutes to function. The HD seems to be basically inactive, just the occasional flash. After this the PC seems to be OK. Event viewer simply shows assorted Service Control Manager errors about 30000 millisecond timeouts. By the time Task Manager/Performance manager works it's too late to see what's going on. This happens 2 out of 3 times and for the last 10 days. I doubt if it's malware as I run 2 products.
Any clues how I can find out what might be going on during this "dead" period?
Any help would be much appreciated.
