Windows 7: What else can cause a slow bootup?

I just don't know about running cleaner on a Win7 registory , I have read more horror stories of people having to do a clean Win install after using this application. I also thought the general feeling was that Win7 manages and sorts out its registory very well without using application like this. Would I use cleaner on my Win7 registory, not on your life.

I installed this motherboard Last weekend and i've had Long boot up ever since. It seems the lag on the Sata 3 port. At first the was nothing plugged into it , so I thought maybe plugged a hdd into to get it to move but nothing . boot up hangs on sata 3 for about 3-5 minutes before moving on.....
