How to access a recovery Partition on a HP after fresh Install of Win7

    Hi,

I have a question. How do I access a recovery Partition after a fresh install of Win7? I a fresh copy of Windows 7 from a DVD not using the recovery as I didn't want all HP utilities and stuff. But now when I press F11 it doesn't go to recovery or cant see any option there. Can see the recovery partition in Windows as I didn't touch it while installing a fresh copy.. Any Idea's please help..

    Thank you..

As long as you have that DVD you have your recovery fare on that disc, the partition is no longer needed.

If you really want that recovery partition back in play you would need your Windows Boot Manager configuration modified.

Those companies too cheap to give users install media, with their new computers, did it instead with that partition, which of course leaves ignorant users in the lurch WHEN the hard drive fails (aka. wild tech support calls) plus wastes desirable space.

Most big co's offer a virgin install backup discs burn when first running the new system, though.

Please correct me if I am wrong, I have never had to use one of those partitions.
