Fixing Win 7 with the master disk

As someone who bought a master disk of Win 7 Home Premium with his new computer, I'd like to know how I use the master disk to fix any damage done to the system. I seem to remember that all it took with the old Windows 98 was to simply pop the disk in the drive and it more or less was straight forward from there. But with Win 7 it seems a bit more involved.

Chips some system specs would be nice mate and what damage are you referring to that cannot be perhaps diagnosed with just a sfc? SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker or chkdsk

Oh, we had a power cut yesterday and my computer keeps deleting all my restore points. Also, when I upgraded my computer the person who did it made a clone for my new hard drive. The thing hasn't been working quite right on the cloned system, so I want to fix anything that might have happened to cause it to not work right. It's also for future reference, just in case I need to fix my system with the Win 7 master disk later on.

Hum Chips I see now while I like cloning it can be from time to time not quite as "original" as the cloned drive.

I suppose a clean install and recover data from a back up image is out of the question? as I would be tempted to do that to get a real "clean" slate as it were.:)

Is this the original factory preinstalled Win7 or upgraded Vista? If so that is a corrupt install to begin with, throttling Win7's native performance with bloatware and useless duplicate utilities that have better versions built into Win7.

Everything needed is here to get and keep a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 with steps working the same for retail. Use the latest official installer in Step1.

Otherwise work through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7

lol Nope, not a chance, sorry. I've been working hard over the past month to install other things since I got it back, like over 200 mods for Skyrim, and, well, I think you can gather where I'm going here?

Nope, it's the full original Win 7, not an upgrade. I use a little program to make system restore points on both my computers, but Win 7 keeps deleting them after a short period on both machines for some reason. Strange thing though, practically all my programs work alright after reinstalling them except for one, Google Earth. As far as I can tell all my system hogging games programs now work like a dream except this one program. I've installed and reinstalled it but it still doesn't work properly. It's sluggish to boot-up right from the start, but then when I zoom in the image doesn't clear up with it. It's all digitised! It also doesn't go to street level, and when I exit Google Earth and try to restart it refuses to boot-up again unless I restart the computer. Also, Malwarebytes keeps saying there's something fishy about it, even though I downloaded it from the official site. And yep, when I say I keep reinstalling it I mean I keep downloading it, but with no luck. Really weird stuff, aye!

You can still benefit by sticking with the tools and methods in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
which assure getting and keeping a perfect install. Doing a lot of mods and using a 3rd party System Restore are warning flags to us. We have seen over tens of thousands of cases what works best and doesn't with Win7. The built-in utilities are all perfectly balanced with the OS so that none other are needed except those given.

So take it or leave it: You will get and keep a perfect install for as long as you stick with the tools and methods in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7, which steps are the same for retail.

I have never heard of a 3rd party restore point tool. I have no idea why one would want one.
Using Windows 7 built in tool works quite well on my two Windows 7 systems.
Working around a bunch of 3rd party tools makes it very difficult to troubleshoot and repair a computer.
