Advance System Care has screwed up many of computers.
I would highly recommend removing all those tune up, clean up, speed up, ect programs
and let Windows 7 be Windows 7.
A program that I and many others consider worth having is Ccleaner. Unless you feel very comfortable in the registry do not use the registry section of Ccleaner.
I switched to using MSE and Malwarebytes from AVG several months ago. I like them and their straightforward interface a bit better overall.
I also like CCleaner and have used registry cleaning with it without issue.
Likewise, I also caution against using general "speed boost/optimizing" type programs. Windows 7 generally does a great job and doesn't need these type of programs.
Windows doesn't need registry cleaning either. Registry cleaners generally cause more trouble than they solve.
I haven't had any problems with the CCleaner registry cleaner, and it has gotten rid of stuff that I don't need in there. So, generally, maybe, but in my case, no. I'd likely be fine without using it too though.
