maxb2000, that's excellent for a mechanical drive. Very good, well done.

Boshko, all you need at startup is your AV. Most everything else will start up, but a little later in the process or when you decide you need them start them. But, you're getting there. That's an improvement and a good start.

This might be true for desktops, but for many laptops, some programs are necessary to be started right after windows boots like programs that manage special buttons in some laptops such as the brightness button on the "Fn" key in the keyboard or the Wifi and bluetooth touch sensitive buttons or even fan control button that is common with Lenovo ideapad laptops. In addition, the touchpad software must be running right after Windows boots for some advanced gestures like double finger scroll to be available. If they don't startup right away, the user won't be able to toggle those buttons on or off or use double finger scroll and customized gestures right after boot.

Wait till you see my computer...

8 minutes to startup... unbelievable. And this is AFTER running three optimization softwares, disabling lots of program start-ups, delaying many etc.
Currently use AVG PC Tuneup as my PC maintaining software, is that the problem? I ve heard AVG causes black screens which I have also experienced recently.

And the average time is 32 seconds... 15 times less than what I have.
