    Laptop will not Hibernate, Sleep,

Since upgrading my Brand New Dell Laptop to Windows 7 my laptop crashed because of itunes. After uninstalling itunes the computer stopped going into sleep, hibernate and even shutting down. When I try sleep or hibernate the screen goes blank but the power button on my Dell Inspiron remains fully lit. On sleep it pulsates and on hibernate it is extinguished. When I try to resume the system does nothing except chirp when i hit the spacebar, shift, or enter keys. When I try to shutdown my computer the screen simply says logging off indefinitely, I have even tried letting it "shut down" over night and nothing happened. I am getting really frustrated with microsoft because I know that Windows 7 is to blame for the problems that are occurring with my NEW computer that had no problems at all until the upgrade that was authorized by Dell after I met all system requirements.

    Can anybody help me?????

I would start over and get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 now that you're here at the site which specializes in that.

An Upgrade install is an inferior install, as is any factory preinstalled OS. It's the difference between having the worst possible install of Win7 you can have, or the best one. Your choice.

    - Try this solution
    - Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
    - In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.
    - When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.
    - At the command prompt, type powercfg.exe /hibernate on, and then press Enter.
    - Type exit, and then press Enter to close the Command Prompt window.
    Best of luck
