Windows 7: My 1 TB disk suddenly became almost full

My 1 TB disk suddenly became almost full

My hard disk recently showed it was almost full. I reduced the maximum space allowed by 'restore' to 3% and regained quite a lot of space and then downloaded WinDirStat. I discovered that there is a weird directory on drive C: taking up 310 GB. It is labelled !534[[Bbs9koj3adoc and contains 1472 files. I have no idea what this is or whether I can delete any of it. I would appreciate any informatiion about this.

I read in a similar question from 2012 of a similar problem and one expert said that if you ran third party defagmenters this might cause a problem. I haven't done this but I have wiped the unused space with CCP and Eraser so I was wondering if this has caused any problem.
