    Intel Core i7 2670QM
    8GB 1333MHz Memory
    750GB 5400rpm
nVidia Geforce 540M GT 2GB with Intel Graphics HD 3000 1.5 GB

My Laptop Heats upto 85 celcius in Fifa 12, 92 in Assassins creed, 94 with BMan Arkam Asylum, 87 with NFS Hotpursuit.

Good cooler there. My suggestion for cooling pad is to not get the smaller fans since they are louder than the big one.

Another alternatives that I recommend are Cooler Master NotePal X2 and Thermaltake Massive23 LX. Both gets great reviews at Amazon.

Internal coolers should be enough, make sure they are dust free and if possible apply a new layer of thermal compound over cpu and gpu, like artic silver or something (brand doesnt really matter).

    Imrankhan,
When was the last time you cleaned the lappy? Open this bad boy up and see how close to the fan and fins you can get and clean them all with air and q-tips.

This Laptop is 11months old... I started playing games only after 3months of purchase...
Fans goes to maximum only after reaching 75-80 celcius.
I have never opened this laptop the case since purchase. I have the service manual for this laptop...A copper plate flow over all the heat zones like HDD, GPU and then reaches near the exhaust, where a blower type fan blows the air over copper fins to cool the copper plate...
I have used compressed air to clean the laptop a week ago. But it doesnt seem to have accumulated so much dust...

Hi Imrankhan, You could always try A free little program called I8kfangui Dell Inspiron Inspiron/Latitude/Precision fan control you can configure this for different scenarios (It speeds or decreases the speed of the internal fans) to suit gaming ,office work , surfing etc etc :)

My laptop is not that much old...
I always had a thought that Dell may have made a better cooling system in laptop...
So I am seaching for other ways to cool my laptop...
You all know that safe operating temp for HDD is 55 celcius. But HDD temp sensor shows over 60 celcius while playing...

I don't have any inputs for you concerning a cooling pad as I've never needed one of those. I just thought that you might want to see this video. At about the 13 minute mark, you can see the fins/fan combo.

I would not suggest taking any computer apart without protecting against electrostatic discharges.

Yep mate as Username says the strap and may I make a suggestion - I always do this on a large white towel of some sort - if you drop those tiny screws they tend not to bounce off the top and onto the floor to be lost forever the towel stops that happening.

If you are going to do the compound then use a cleaning kit and some good compound I always use these. Arctic Silver Incorporated - ArctiClean and either Arctic Silver Incorporated - Arctic Silver 5 or Noctua.at - sound-optimised premium components "Designed in Austria"! the latter being a tad thicker and harder to spread and be careful NOT to apply too much.:)
