Windows 7 Error Checking at startup

    Well i did this.

and my girlfriends laptop is just at a black screen after the dell screen.

I clicked the error checking for the "C Drive" and "At Startup" and when i restarted it just went to a black screen after the dell screen.

I have restarted several times trying to get Windows 7 to startup with no avail. What should i do? I need help!

Its a dell latitude laptop with like 2gb of ram intel core 2 duo proc (not sure on speed)

    Thanks!

well i know when i "got it" i made one copy for sure, which isn't here, its at my college dorm. The other if i did make it, she has. but she is at work. So currently im trying to "get it (Dl)" again.

so no i do not have the disk available. and at startup the only options are at the dell screen which are F2 and F12

    ignore the Dell screen

try to boot the computer and just keep hitting F8

if the computer was powered off during the checkdisk procedure, it's very likely that the filesystem and/or files are corrupt now.
