Win 7-32, XP Pro-32

The only situation I ever found where clearing the prefetch directory was useful was on Windows XP with some nVidia drivers. Occasionally, my driver would stop loading properly, proper screen resolution would not be set, etc. The only solution I ever found to that problem was to clear the prefetch folder.

This "fix" to the nVidia driver problem has been described several places.

I never understood why clearing the prefetch folder would fix the problem, but it did.

Agreed that clearing the folder has a negative effect on optimization.
