Clearly you computer cannot handle 1600, so no you cannot make it run at 1600.

Ok, your ram is rated for 1600mhz, what voltage is the ram set to in your bios? OCZ usually needs a bit higher than stock voltage to be stable. Try bumping the voltage up by 0.1 volts, and give it a try.

If you need further help getting your OCZ ram to perform correctly, please ask for configuration help on the OCZ forums. http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/

By the way, what motherboard are you using?

Don't assume anything, did you even read the product description? The ram is rated for 1600mhz

But what about the motherboard? Or the power supply? Or the [insert component here]? The RAM may be rated for 1600, but not booting when you use that value says the computer cannot support it.

I have 2 x 1GB DDR OCZ memory. Default for DDR is 2.5 volts. I use 2.7 v with overclocking and my system is completely stable. I think it was stable at lesser voltage but it's been running really well.

On the gigabyte site in specs it says it only supports 1333 / 1066 / 800 GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Specification - GA-EP45T-UD3LR (rev. 1.0) On the OCZ site you need to run the memory at min. 1.7 volts and timings of 7 cas 7 trod 7 Trip 24 trays http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...800_reaper_hpc So to get it overclocked to somewhere around 1600 your going to have to up your voltage always a little bit at a time and check with the OCZ forum for timing tweaks that work with your board and CPU. Overclocking is always a trial and error time consuming effort. Since your MB manufacturer only states it supports up to 1333 anything over that is a plus. Keep fiddling with the volts and timings till it won't boot then back things down a couple of notches and be satisfied with the results. IMO. Fabe http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/index.php
