On boot-up a second option is offered that I want to remove

Hi

Windows 7 Pro 32-bit is the version that uses me.

Recently the boot disc ran a system check and now, during boot-up, a screen displays the option of choosing Windows 7 or [RECOVERED]. After 22 seconds the OS chooses Windows 7 and continues boot-up.

I want to change the boot-up sequence so that the [RECOVERED] option is 'fixed', whatever fixed means in this case. Removed anyway.

According to the Tutorials there's a utility called BCDEdit which can make changes to the \bootmgr file. Is that what I'd need to get the job done?
Things with names like \bootmgr frighten me. Please hold my hand.

Cheers

Hi,

Follow this tutorial and consider your hand held

You may need to pay attention to "Option 1, number 3", to change the default OS.
