High CPU usage when laptop is idle

I noticed a couple weeks ago my laptop's cpu fan had been cranking even when I was only surfing the internet or typing something up in Microsoft word. I've been monitoring the CPU usage over those last few weeks and when the computer is idle the cpu usage hovers anywhere between 25%-60% with no programs open.

I started looking around the internet for solutions. I did a full computer scan with Norton Antivirus which caught a few small bugs. Then restarted the computer and now it runs around 25%-45% when idle.

I downloaded Process Explorer to show more of what was bogging down the cpu. At the top of the list was "System Idle Process" in the cpu column reads between 60-70. Also AppleMobileDeviceService.exe in the cpu column is between 20-25. Everything else was close enough to 0 that it wouldn't make a difference. I'm not sure what this means or how I should go about fixing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here is an Apple article I found about AppleMobileDeviceService.exe high CPU use.
AppleMobileDeviceService.exe is hogging up to %50 of CPU

Looks like a lot of people have this issue, and a lot of theories on how to solve it...

Thanks for the reply! I tried a couple of solutions from that website. The one that worked for me was opening command prompt as administrator and typing in "netsh winsock reset" and then restarting the computer. Now AppleMobileDeviceService.exe is gone!

But now a new thing popped up in it's place: NuanceWDS.exe. This is hogging between 20-30% of the cpu when idle and I cannot end process. And when I go to see the path of where it's located it says "error opening process". I have no idea what this process is. I've never seen it before. Could this be a virus?

Here is an article I found that might help with the NuanceWDS.exe CPU usage

PDFProFiltSrv.exe, NuanceWDS.exe and Microsoft Windows Desktop Search
