Startup Repair after PC is up and running
Is there a way to run startup repair after the PC is up and running, or is it only possible upon startup.
I have very erratic startups and just cannot find a solution.

type msconfig in the search box - in the pop-up that appears, you'll see a tab called Startup
have a look through the entries listed, to see if there are any that you can disable in order to clear the problem..
Set BIOS (press F1 or F2 at start up) to boot from your repair cd, by selecting CD_ROM as first boot priority, save and restart.
I am confused. I do not have ANY Windows 7 disks. The PC came loaded with it. I have run startup repair ONCE when I had the option after a bad start. Since then I have not seen the screen that allows that. I still have erratic startups and was hoping that there was some way to use that function after it starts. Hope that makes sense.
I have also eliminated all the unneeded programs from my startup menu. I no longer see the "blue screen" at startup. Sometimes I see the Windows logo and it freezes. Other times I just see the log on screen. I usually have to push the start button on my PC three times before it boots up. Once my PC starts it is fast and has all the necessary needs such as memory and hard drive space. I don't need a new PC...I want to fix this one and was hoping to do it without taking to a computer store.
From my own experiences you can only get to the S/U repair page via the F8 key when it is cycled during S/U. Once Windows is loaded I don't think it's available. But I have seen numerous variations on this based on what other owners have posted as to when you strike F8 to get into the repair mode. In Windows 8 they have removed this function and replaced it with "Charms" to get to the repair mode.
I'm currently having a similar problem with my Dell Inspiron 560 where F8 recovery page is apparently gone. I suspect it was lost during the reloading of all my software a few days ago when the system boot manager and windows boot config had to be resurrected after being corrupted/erased. The addition of an American Megatrends Bios page probably had something to do with it. The F8 key no longer works on my machine. It used to work quite well. I can hear it responding when pushed but no menu page loads. Like Barnum, I never received any software from Dell with my package (ie no system recovery disk).

My PC came up with a recovery DVD Software, it re-installs or fixes the Windows 7 or any software the computer came with.
I did this to run it.
- Start the computer and enter BIOS by pressing quickly F1 or F2
- In BIOS, there boot priority whether you want to boot from hard drive or CD or USB . select CD-ROM, save and exit.
- Computer will restart and repair process recovery DVD will run.
- make sure it is inserted in you CD-ROM.
I Hope this helps.
Run SFC/Scannow to scan your pc for errors in cmd
Than you Addram...I do not have any disks, period. My PC came with it installed. I have tried the sfc/scannow numerous times. Keep getting the same message that it could not repair certain items.
