hp laptop runs slow after w7 ultimate install

installed win7 ultimate....it runs real slow!!! went to device manager does not show any problems...the unit is a HP dv5115nr laptop...went to hp and the on os they have is vista or xp ...they did not have anything else. when I click on a .jpg it takes a long time for it to come up. I am sure it is a driver problem, but hp does not have the os drivers...what is the solution? The unit boots fine and then after that SLOW...dnlond and install is slow...unit is about 7 yrs old..has good amd process and plenty of memory (2 gig)

Where did you get Win7? How is it activated?

Work through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 which will check it over thoroughly and optimize it.

Make sure the install you did is similar to the perfect install compiled in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 based on what works best in thousands of installs we've helped with here.
