    Problem after reformatting with space

So I just reformatted my computer and out of 465GB on my hard drive I have 293GB free. There is nothing on my computer anymore... I recently defragged my computer aswell a couple weeks before I did a reformat. Would this be the problem? How can I get more free space back because I should not have 170 GB used already that's pretty ridiculous. How can this be solved please?

    Hello KnuckleDuster15,

Welcome to the forums! It seems that you could have created a separate partition on the drive when you re-installed windows. If you open the Start menu, you should see Computer on the right side. Right click this then select Manage. When the Computer Management window opens, navigate to the Disk Management section on the left hand side.

From this screen you can see all your drives and how they are partitioned. Take a screen shot for us so we can see how yours is set up. Let me know if my directions are hard to follow or if you can't find the Disk Management screen. Also, it is always helpful to us when you update the System Spec section of your profile.

    Best Regards,
