It increases the RAM allocation for applications from 2GB (default) to 3GB. Some programs do not operate properly in 2GB and then this can be applied. It may crash your system though.
In 64bit it makes no sense because 4GBs are allocated per default - real RAM or paging space.
The "increaseuserva 3072" option changes the default private virtual address allocation from 2 GB to 3 GB. There is a corresponding reduction in the system address space from 2 GB to 1 GB. Please understand that this is private virtual address space and has nothing (almost nothing) to do with how RAM is used. Only processes that specifically indicate to Windows that they are compatible with this setting will see a change. Most are not.
This setting has some rather serious implications that make it unsuitable for general use. That is why it is not set by default. It is not compatible with some systems.
It is not supported on a 64 bit OS and will be ignored.
