ok, i figured out the causes i believe.... here are the drivers and such that are causing the DPC spikes.

ataport.sys
netbt.sys
USBPORT.sys
afd.sys
ntoskrnl.exe
dpclat_driver.sys
dxgkrnl.sys

how would i update these or fix them from giving high DPC?

Don't disable those or you'll crap your system out.

I don't know what dpclat_driver.sys is but the rest are system drivers.

Turn off Prefetch and let the system settle for a day or two until indexing and updates are finished. You shouldn't try to tweek a new system or try to benchmark it either. Let it stabilize by running it 24 hours, at least.

You didn't follow the instruction for your motherboard, did you. The board drivers should have been the first thing loaded and updated. Windows Update does not normally update chipset drivers. It depends on what you have set for options. I wouldn't use them any way. They're likely older than the motherboard updates. Get your drivers from ASUS. They'll include INF installers that Windows needs to correctly deal with your hardware.

System Interrupts
Hello! I have constant 8% CPU usage in Windows 7. It does not show up under any particular process in Task Manager. Resource Monitor says that it is System Interrupts. I suspect this is a driver issue -- is there a way to get more detail on what is sending interrupts to the CPU?
