    What Prefetch is having to store and retrieve on boot takes longer than reading it directly off the SSD. But you can do as you wish.

    i use to turn it off and my PC was constantly searching for BOOT.....something. for go what the name was, and it would do that every 15 mins or so causing lag spikes in my games. so thats y i have it on boot files only.

    Then something else is wrong. See your other thread on motherboard drivers. Boot is just that. It's used for Windows boot files. After that, it shouldn't be searching for boot files again.

    that was on my HDD however.... it was "readyboot" that was giving me the issue. once i enabled it again, all was good and stutter was gone! i dont mind keeping it enabled to boot only. theres only 9 items in the prefetch folder anyway....
