Ok. The "C:\Users\(user-name)\Desktop" user folder not being there is what is causing the error in the command prompt.

You can do OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to restore the default location of your "C:\Users\(user-name)\Desktop" folder. Afterwards, you should be to run the command.

User Folders - Restore Default Location
I've just been checking out the option 2 tutorial, and i'm finding it a bit to complex for me.
I have noticed in my public folder which is under my username folder resides the desktop folder,
could i not just copy & paste the desktop folder from the public folder and into my username folder.

It's showing that the _isdel.exe file is still missing and cannot be repaired.

If you are not having anymore issues, then it's not worth worry about. :)

Sorry, but no. That will not always work if the link's path is not set properly in the registry.

I decided to man up and give the option 2 a go,everything was going fine but wheni got to 20 i noticed opposite desktop right hand pane it was called C:\users\Neil\Documents\arcsoft\showbiz\desktop so in
22 i changed the name to C:\users\Neil\desktop then 23 close regedit.
Then 24 open elevated command prompt and copy & paste attrib +r -s -h "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop" /S /D then 26 says close elevated command prompt, but does not say enter which i thought was strange.
Anyway i rebooted and then checked the desktop folder i created in users folder and it is empty(should it be empty?)

Your "C:\Users\Neil\Desktop" folder would be empty if you don't have any files on your desktop.

Anything on your desktop should show up in this folder, unless it's in the hidden "C:\Users\Public\Desktop" folder shared by all users.

I have a lot of program exe's on my desktop, but the desktop folder is empty in "C:\Users\Neil\Desktop"
but the hidden "C:\Users\Public\Desktop" does have everything that is on my desktop in it.

You're good to go then as long as your "C:\Users\Neil\Desktop" has a "Location" tab in it's properties page.

    Hi Brink,
Thanks for all your time and patience helping me with this issue.
So i suppose the bottom line is although isdel.exe file is still missing and cannot be repaired.
It's not a deal breaker and my laptop should perform just as good as if the missing isdel.exe
was there and to carry on regardless.
PS One more thing thats been nagging me, in the last tutorial i followed in option 2
    open an elevated command
    25. In the elevated command prompt, Copy and Paste the command below exactly as is for the user folder icon that you want to restore to default. (see table below)
    26. Close the elevated command prompt.
But there's no mention of pressing enter after putting the command line in,just close command prompt.
Is this correct or a mistake in the tutorial.

    You're most welcome Tommy.

Yeah, it was one of those assumed you know to press Enter, but I added it to the step to help avoid any confusion or mistakes. :)
