    Suddenly no jump files

First time this has happened to me. I have 7 programs pinned to my start menu and until yestrday they all had at least 4 jump files. This morning none of the 7 programs has a single jump file. Any help appreciated in advance.

Thank you very much for your backup and restore jump lists link and I'm sure I shall make good use of it in the future. In the meantime, allow me to re-define my original question/problem.

Last night I had jump files. I shut off the laptop and went to bed.
This morning I got up and booted the laptop; there were no jump files.
    Question: WHY?
To be noted: No one touched the laptop overnight. We're in our 70s and my wife has a computer of her own.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi there .. Do you use Ccleaner ? .. Windows 7 displays up to ten recent items in jump lists. The number can be changed by right-clicking on the Windows Orb and selecting Properties from the menu. A click on the customize button in the right upper corner will open the menu where the recent items setting can be changed.

The entry Number of recent items to be displayed in Jump Lists controls the amount of items that are displayed in the jump lists. It can be increased or decreased to suite the user’s needs. A click on the ok button will save the changes.
