Is it necessary to run Windows Experiense Index -tool?

Hi. I'm using N-version of Windows 7 so WEI cannot be run without installing the media-package. Does Windows benefit from WEI indexing or should I just ignore the issue. I've heard you should run WEI so Windows would recognize SSD and enable aero.

I don't think you can get Aero in the N version of Windows, IIRC. The WIE itself doesn't matter so much. It's mostly an informational tool aimed at helping you choose software by allowing you to see if certain software will run on your machine, based in its WEI score. It's also a comparison tool to loosely compare performance between machines.

It's not necessary to run it and it won't affect or alter the operation of your PC if you don't.

Well that's the most important part. Thank you.
