How can I replace function of shutdown button with hibernate?

    Hi
I want my PC to hibernate when I press shutdown ( exactly shutdown button ) but I don't know how can I modify something like registry or group policy... to achieve my goal.
Is there any way to do that ?
    Thanks in advance

    Welcome to SevenForums lovelymoon.

You can do this via Power Options in Control Panel.

Start > Control Panel > Search for Power Options > Edit Power Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings.

Then scroll down to 'Power buttons and lid' Then from the drop down menu click Hibernate.

    Changing Shutdown Command Basically

    Thanks for your answer
there is some choices for "Shutdown Button" in start menu such as "restart" "sleep" and so on... I know that I can change the main title of the button to one of the choices that I mentioned earlier but I want to basically change the shutdown command not only the button so if I click the "Shutdown" button in start menu it will run the hibernate command in deed.

So, instead of the 'Shut down' button showing you want 'Hibernate' button to show instead so it's two clicks to hibernate?

To get hibernate to show on the shutdown button options - go into Power Options, select the Sleep section and set the option to disable hybrid sleep

Hybrid sleep automatically goes from sleep to hibernate after a set time

    Alternative:
Right click Task Bar > Preferences > Start Menu > Power Button Options > from the drop down menu select 'Hibernate'

This Power Button is the physical button on the system, the hibernate option is missing from the Start menu "Power Button", if the hybrid sleep option is active, but appears if this is off :)
