Task Manager Missing?

I am trying to start Windows Task Manager and I am getting a message that states windows cannot find C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe. Make sure you type the name correctly and try again. Not sure how this happened, Maybe I have a virus...I need some help here.

Thanks

There are several ways to get to TM
alt cntrl delete at the same time
or right click on bottom task bar. Give them both a try and report back

Run an full anti virus scan
Download and run a scan with malwarebytes.

The best way to fix this is to run System File Checker.

Click Start, type cmd then right click on cmd.exe at the top of the window and select Run as Administrator to open a Elevated Command Prompt.

Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.

Let that run to completion. It should restore Taskmgr.exe and any other missing or corrupted system files.

This tutorial gives many hints about TM. Read them, try them. Do not forget about the other tutorials listed toward the bottom of the page.

If you still have a restore point from the time when it worked, you can get the file from there. From another system might be iffy.
