Screen saver won't operate - possible USB issue

My problem is that my screen saver will not operate at all, no matter what settings I use. It does work when I use the 'preview' function though.

I am running Windows 7 x64. It's updated to the fullest extent via Windows Update. My mobo is a Gigabyte X79-UD3 running F16 Bios, the latest version.

My screen saver is set to blank screen after 1 minute (just for testing, it's normally set to 10 minutes) and used to work perfectly in the past. I can't honestly remember when it stopped working as I am usually at the computer, so have no need of it. All my displays are set to turn off after 30 minutes (three Dell U2413 24" WS monitors), my computer is set to never sleep and hard drive set to never turn off (Kingston SSD as C: drive). Allow wake timers set to disabled. USB selective suspend setting set to disabled.

I am using a Wireless Logitech G700s mouse and wired Logitech G19 keyboard. I mention this as my research has said that this could be the cause. However, I have removed and uninstalled the keyboard and mouse and this hasn't rectified my problem. I am using hte latest drivers for both, downloaded and installed from the manufacturers website today.

My Powercfg /energy report highlighted the issue for me I think and I list them below. My problem is that I have no idea how to fix these errors, so any help would be really gratefully received please.

For reference, my Device Manager is saying that I have three Generic USB Hubs, four USB Composite Devices, one USB Mass Storage Device and two USB Root Hubs, all seemingly not entering 'suspend state.'

I've tried various other things over the last month or so since I noticed this issue but I can't honestly remember what they are. Please respond if you have nay ideas and I can reply with the results.

Have you tried going into the system folder in the control panel and then into device manager and looking under power management for each usb hub to see if the "allow windows/computer to turn this device off to save energy" or something like that box is checked? That may not be the exact wording; but; have you checked to see if that box is checked? Cause if it is; windows is probably turning power to the associated usb hub(s) off; which may be what in turn is causing the issue. Try checking that to see if that resolves the issue. Take a look at the image I have uploaded and it will show the box i am talking about.

    Thanks for responding mate.

Currently all those checkboxes are unticked (although the power management options aren't there for USB Composite device or USB Mass storage device). I've variously tried them all and separately ticked and unticked too, to no avail.

Well if they arent there for the usb storage device(s); i would just do a uninstall of the root hubs; reboot and then let windows re-detect the hubs. IF that doesnt do it; then its possible there could be some sort of hardware issue.

Thanks. I've just done that and rebooted. The computer found the various USB items and reinstalled the drivers for them. No change on the screen saver still not activating though.

My thread, so I reckon i'm allowed to necro it. My screensver still won't work. I've tried so many different things over the intervening months and i'm just totally out of ideas.

I even tried one of those screensaver programs (heavily tested for viruses first) and it still didn't kick in the screensaver so something must be keeping my computer from going idle.

If anyone has any other constructive suggestions on this issue, i'd be very grateful please.

EDIT: For reference, I just did an SFC /SCANNOW in an elevated command prompt and there is nothing wrong there.

Also, I uninstalled my Logitech G700 mouse and G19 keyboard software and all drivers in Device Manager and rebooted. Screen saver still doesn't work.
