Slow Computers, need advice on improving Performance

My brother gave me his login details here, coz he is away atm. He said to post a topic and get some advice/help from you guys.

I have 2 computers, 1 is my son's and he plays alot of games on it. Both our computers are slow, especially mine. Both Run Windows 7 64bit, and Norton 360.

What else do you need to need so i can get help?

Are they prebuilt? If so, try this to remove unneeded software: Clean Up Factory Bloatware Remember to read thoroughly.

Mine was built by my brother, was fast back then. I've since upgraded to Windows 7 two years ago, and has been getting slower and slower. My son's computer he bought off local classfields. Mine is Gigabyte or so it says on the case. My son's is Coolermaster.

Antivirus can seriously slow down any PC. Also, since you have 64 bit you will be able to upgrade your ram. I had 12GB on my desktop unit and performed awesomely.

Upgrading the ram would be a step later on when can afford it.

You should try fixing it by running it again with the /f parameter. But before you do this, backup any important files just in case something goes wrong.
