Windows 7: Windows 7 FPS drop

Windows 7 FPS drop

So i used to play and do anything on my computer with no problems even tho its kinda old and slow. But now i get fps drops for no reason! I checked the CPU temperature and it was 85 and it was never that high, it was always 55 or 60, now it bolted for no reason... For example, i used to play League of legends with 30-40fps, without any problems now, every 30seconds it drops to 3 fps which is basicly a screen freeze for 3-5 seconds then it comes back to 30-40...
I even installed Far cry 1, i play with basicly 60+fps and it still drops to 10fps now and then, before it goes back up...
I had a old PSU with around 460 or 480watts, and i bought a new one with 500w, and i noticed my temp got lower, but now its so high!
Give me a hand here please...
PS: for some reason every program i install to check the temperature doesnt work.
EDIT: Even outside games the fps manages to drop...

HeavenKinder, welcome to the seven forums. I would use core temp. Are you using the stock cooler? I recommend re applying thermal paste and re seating your cooler. Give your PC a good cleaning and make sure you have good airflow.

Remember to use canned air not a vacuum cleaner unless it could blow not suck.

Check the temps isn your BIOS. Speccy might work for you. Stock cooler is the one that came with the CPU

It is a cooler that came with your CPU from Intel. Is this custom or bought? One thing odd is that in your specs, it says your PC is made by ASUS but uses a Gigabyte motherboard. Is this true?
Edit: Oops posted right after you.

Probably not, i was too dumb in terms of computers when i made the specs, only the CD driver was from asus...
The stock cooler is the one that came with the pc actually, never changed it, tho i remember 2 pins of it broke, but me and a friend of mine that is a technician or whatever u call it helped me stabalize it, in a way that it is stuck as if it had the 4 pins working.
Edit: Just cleaned the Stock cooler, and it is still stabilized like it was before... And the temp in the bios was 78, which i have no idea why it is that high...

Too funny...I just came on to the forum to ask about PC vacuums but this tread caught my eye instead...

I dont mean to hijack the thread...but why NOT a vacuum...why insist on canned air?

I will start a new thread if preferred
