    Startup items that don't show in MSCONFIG or CCleaner

    Hi

    I've noticed there are some start-up items that don't show in MSCONFIG nor CCleaner and wondered if anyone know how to disable them or better software than CCleaner that you'd recommend fore download? I can't see them listed under services either, but could be missing them.

    They all seem to be Microsoft ones:

    • itype.exe
    • ipoint.exe
    • tabtip.exe
    • tabtip32.exe
    • wisptis.exe

    You can try MS Sysinternals Autoruns.
    It has the most comprehensive list of startup items I know of.

    Hello wotsit,

    You might see if they may be at the registry locations in METHOD FOUR of the tutorial below. If so, then deleting them will remove them from running at startup.

    Startup Programs - Change

    itype.exe = Microsoft IntelliType
    ipoint.exe = Microsoft IntelliPoint
    tabtip.exe = Part of Tablet PC Input Panel.
    tabtip32.exe = Part of Tablet PC Input Panel.
    wisptis.exe = Microsoft Tablet PC Platform

    Hope this helps, :)
