Winodws Installer Keeps Trying to Install Unwanted, Non-existent Pro.

Hi and thanks in advance for your help. When I start my laptop windows installer tries to install "Winter fun pack 2004 for XP". I may have tried this theme awhile ago but I have uninstalled it. It is only recently (today) that this started happening. I am sure it coincides with the download of a video capture software package that asked if I wanted to record from the microphone and speakers. The program in question then downloaded an add on and upon restart the problem with windows installer happened. I have manually removed all traces of the winter fun pack after the windows installer said that the network resources were unavailable. Furthermore, unless the installer is set to manual it continues to try and install the darn thing. Any ideas or solutions? I am all ears.

System Restore to a point in time before you downloaded Winter Fun Pack. Or at least to a point in time before you started getting these attempts to install it.

Look at msconfig Startup tab, see if anything odd there.
