Storing Sys Restore point on CD?

Just built a new system Around an Asus x79Deluxe and an Intel Core i7-4930K.

Went with water cooling and learned the hard way that you can't just use your old PSU on a 4th gen CPU, but that it's gotta be Haswell compliant. Imagine my frustration when the system just blinked on and off.

Anyway I just created the system recovery disk and a restore point and am wondering if that restore point can be lifted and copied to a CD for storage.

I plan to image the drive anyway, but a handy, known, great sys restore point on disk sounds like a good idea. Know how to do this - - where to find the restore point? What to look for?

Perhaps this might offer some insight...

Personally, I think a system image with something like Macrium Reflect Free is your best option. This will even back up the restore point

WHS from these forums wrote an excellent tutorial for this..

I have macrium and as soon as I format my 2 TB drive I'm imaging the operational one.

    Thanks for the info.
