    Laptop suddenly slows down


    hi,
    i am using a dell inspiron 4050 laptop with 2gb ram, windows 7 ultimate 32 bit.
    my laptop was running very smoothly.
    i had only 4gb free space left but there was no problem in speed and performance.
    A week ago I uninstalled Autocad 2014. after that my laptop has slowed down.
    windows explorer and other programms take a longer time to open and usually hang.
    sometimes it starts working just fine as it was before. but after about an hour , it again slows down.
    i have checked task manager. i also opened msconfig to disable unwanted software, used AVG PC tuneup but
    the problem is still there.

    Well; the best way to completely get rid of "remnants" from uninstalling a program(s) is to use a program called revo uninstaller. That will get rid of all the extras left behind such as registry entries, shortcuts and the like. Download, install, and run the program. That should hopefully free up some resources. Also you might want to consider upping the amount of ram you have if the system can be expanded further. That will help smooth things out as well. here is the link to revo uninstaller:

    AVG Pc Tune up? Any program that advertises to "Fix all your problems" Even from big brands like AVG tend to do more damage than good.
    You could have picked up some adware/malware etc around the same time you uninstalled Autocad, coincidence maybe.

    Please download AdwCleaner:
    http://general-changelog-team.fr/fr/downloads/finish/20-outils-de-xplode/2-adwcleaner
    Save to the desktop.

    Close all open programs.
    To run the program, right-click AdwCleaner.exe and select: Run as Administrator

    Click on Search and confirm the prompt.
    After the program finishes, click the Report button. Please post the contents of the C:\AdwCleaner[Rx].txt in your next reply. In the reply window click the "#" icon at the top and paste the log text between the [code ] Paste Here [ /code] tags.

    Do NOT perform the delete part before I or someone else can read the log.



    To delete:

    Run AdwCleaner once again.
    This time click on:Delete, you will be asked to reboot to finish cleaning.
    When done, please post the content of the C:\AdwCleaner[Sx].txt in your reply as outlined above.

    Go ahead a run the delete part, Babylon, search scopes, toolbars etc slow your system down a good bit buddy! Go ahead and run the delete part of AdwCleaner

    Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.



    • Shutdown your antivirus to avoid any conflicts.
    • Right click over JRT.exe and select Run as administrator on Windows Vista or Windows 7, double-click on XP.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next reply message
    • When completed make sure to re-enable your antivirus

    it is a little bit better but still slow.
    explorer and firefox freeze often.
    and HAP (hourly analyis program) has stopped working saying some ActiveX error.
    there are two log files of rogue killer saved on desktop.

    the log file is too long to be paste here.
