autocheck disabled- volume is dirty
The problem is I cannot check for errors on restart because of an unspecified error due to some unspecified software. it tells me to use system Restore to correct this. System Restore cannot go back far enough to correct the problem. I did the fsutil query in command prompt and it say the volume is dirty. system Restore will not proceed because the disk has errors. I am in a catch-22 and can't get out. I have tried to do a repair install of win 7 pro 64 bit with an ISO and that does not work, telling me I have the wrong version of windows ISO. I believe this is due to my pc having been originally pre-installed with win 7 64 bit Home edition. I have run out of options but I do not want to do a clean install if I can avoid it. Can anyone help me?
