1) the more stuff you have the slower or gets, think of it like a car,the more junk the slower it goes. also the more you have the more jumbled it becaomes so its hard to find what you want (fragged)
2) theres not really a way to measure the slow down other than what you notice.
3) basically have a good clear up, run disk defragging as well as remove start up programs. (click start type run, type msconfig in the box, then click start up tab, remove as much as possible from there)
4) a broken or worn hard drive will cause system crashes and instability.
5)if any manjor components were faulty you would get blue screen, random crashes, instability and or booting problems.

It is really hard to know what is making your pc slow without any information.

Did this suddenly start happening?

It could be in anything from an infection to hardware to too many programs starting up with your pc

Not quite sure when this started, but around 6-8 weeks ago. At the onset when I go online(ie11), everything seems to be quick while general browsing and even playing a vid in youtube or live leak, and even playing my online miniclip pool game. The issue I'm having is that if the computer is left...

svchost.exe -k netsvcs Slowing Down Computer
It's been doing this for a while now, too.. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I disabled windows update a long time ago; if I try to update it now, my system can't handle it, and it reverts its changes. Help would be appreciated. Where would I start?

My new computer is slowing down
Well, I wasn't going to put a lot of "stuff" on my new computer. I wanted it to be clean and fast. It was for a while, but I've added a lot of games. We like them on the computer and not live. I've downloaded and then removed when we don't like them. Could this be what is slowing down the...

Computer slowing during multitask.. say it aint so..
One of my favorite things about Windows 7 vs it's predecessors, has been the way it seems to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.. Meaning, I could start a file transfer, start a download, and still have a very responsive, use-able machine for basic tasks. I read about the dispatcher lock fix that...
