    Rate computer fails

    Greetings all.

After many, many years of windows XP I am just getting to grips with this super new Win 7 system.
I wanted to run 'rate my computer' to see if everything is ok.
However, its progress bar gets to within 2mm of the end on hard drive test and then fails.
I have attached a screen shot of the error.
Can anyone help me sort this out please?

    Regards

    Mike

Hello mikesndbs , welcome to the forums . Can you please confirm you have SP1 installed and all the latest microsoft updates , as your systems specs does not indicate such.

Sorry, yes SRP 1 is installed, updates are set to auto so I assume they are all in place.
Just looked on event viewer (prob not a good idea) and now worried about bitlocker that reports errors. Don't really understand that but maybe its relevant to this issue as well?

Unless you have somehow managed to get Bitlocker to work , your OS should not have that available . Please use this and post attach a copy of a .txt file of the error . Event Viewer - Open and Use in Windows 7
Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums
Lets see if we can get to bottom of this and get it sorted .

    Hi, hope this is right?

Attached, screen shot of sys events filtered to show errors and txt file of two errors from it.
Not sure where to look for the 'rate my computer' problem?

Thanks for your help, feeling quite down about this having only just purchased this system!

Hmm, from what I have read you should not have that on your version OS. But, you clearly do. Use this : BitLocker Drive Encryption - Unlock a Locked OS Drive
Then post back if this sorted your issue pls.

When I look at the encryption settings it seems to suggest none have been set up?
This function is alien to me

Just follow the tutorials one step at a time , after reading the whole tutorial , decide which option you need to use. Post at which option and step you get stuck on .
