PC runs slow for one website

Got a strange one here. I am trying to load a website, The SAA - Society For All Artists, I use almost daily, on my PC, but for the last 4 days, it's taking over 2 mins to load and when ir does open, it opens with just text. Neither can I open links from the menu. I do not have any problems with any other site. My PC is a Packard Bell, Win 7 HP, 32 bit. I have no problem with my Laptop, also on Win 7, 64 bit, and my Android Tablet.

I first noticed this problem last Saturday, at first just a bit slow and I have daily auto scans with MalwareBytes and AVG Pro. Other tests I have so far carried out include CCleaner, full scan, AVG Tune up, AVG Optimiser and a couple of other little aps I have on the PC.

I have tried both IE9 and Firefox (Whatever the latest version is)

It's got me baffled. Why is it just the PC? I thought it might be their servers, but when I tried it out on my other 2 devices, it fully stumped me.

Hope you knowledgeable guys can help out. The PC is my main device. The laptop is used mainly for monitoring the weather. The Tablet, mainly as an e-reader.

Thanks.

Hello Stokkers,

You mentioned that you used AVG Tune Up. This program is good, but I wouldn't recommend it to people because there's not really a need to "tune up" your computer.

Is this issue only happening on one browser? Internet Explorer? Or do you have more than one browser?

Thank you,

Hi Vinny.

This problem is only happening on my PC and is happening on IE9 and Firefox.

I have just tried again this morning and there is no change.

Very strange!

Hello Ken,

Is there any specific reason as to why you are using Internet Explorer 9? The latest version out is Internet Explorer 11.
Download Internet Explorer - Browser

Please download the latest version and then let me know if the issue still occurs.

Thank you,

Hi Vinny,

Thanks for your reply. The reason I am still using IE9, is because I pay my electri9c bill online, as I can't get to a PayPoint easily. I tried upgrading to 10, but the system I was using would not accept my details, so was told by the vendor, to revert back to 9. Whether it works on 11, I do not know.

I have installed 11, so I don't know if my online payments will work or not. I will check later. However, after 7 minutes of trying to load the site I was trying to get to, I gave up. It's obvious to me, that it looks like my PC is at fault, but, can't figure what can be causing the problem.

I use my PC for all my day-to-day work/leisure running. I think I said, that my laptop is used, these days, mainly to keep an eye on the weather - taking a chance to get out and about on my mobility scooter. I have an Android tablet, that was originally purchased, as an aid for when I have to go stay in hospital, as an e-reader.

Several years ago, I had to stop working, due to diabetes. I then started as an IT tutor, mainly to older people, aged 40+, so I have a fair idea about how to get around a PC. Have built and repaired PCs, but this one has got me down and I am getting frustrated, because I can't figure out what to do.

Thanks.

Hi Stokkers,
Try downloading CCleaner, it will give your PC a spring clean in seconds. It will clear cookies, history and any old loading files that slows up browsing.

Also, there is a piece of software called DNS jumper which will select the fastest DNS server for you (speed up Internet browsing ) and lastly, disable any add-ons that could be slowing down your speed also.

Good Luck.
