20% - 5% CPU Usage while playing 1080P Videos, Is this normal?

    20% - 5% CPU Usage while playing 1080P Videos, Is this normal?


    This worries me because I can get 5 percent less when GeForce 210 does a playback of a 1080P video

    What player are you using? Try SPlayer Portable. Make sure t get the portable edition as there were some issues with the installed version. I'm not sure if installed version is fixed. SPlayer seems able to use GPU acceleration even with some underpowered GPUs.

    twiddling dem thumbs


    Your computer should be taking up that much even when in idle, despite how good your processor is, your computer is simply just sitting there 'twiddling its thumbs' i.e. its practically 'occupying itself' waiting for a more 'major' process to take place.
