I'm not sure but it may be a Seagate and it's fairly old, well a year and a half old but it is only SATA1 and it does have a smaller cache then my newer one, is there some way of checking the spec without having to pull it out and look?

Hmmm - The part after the initial WDC and before the - is your model number - you can find the exact specs over at WD's site.

I am pretty sure, though, the 250 is either an 8 or a 16 MB Cache HD....

Can't believe though that he is getting better scores on his system with those drives than I am on my system on my drives lol....

WEI is obviously selective in handing out good scores....

The 250GB drive is what I have Vista installed on and 150GB drive has Windows 7 and that is the older one, in Vista I get a 5.9 on the 250GB drive.

I get a 5.9 in Vista as well, but my dual 500 GB drives, one of which has nothing but W7 on it, should be out powering your 160 pretty easily - it has 3 times the capacity and 4 times the cache....and is a SATA II....

And yet our WEIs are the same for the HDs.

Hence, my saying that the WEI is freaky....

I agree 100% and not sure about the memory scores either, considering I have 4 Gigs of Patriot Low Latency 800Mhz DDR2 RAM, although I have it at 5.4.4.12 with my overclock for stability.

Right now my RAM is running at 5-5-5-15-2T @ 800 - All my OC is off and my ReaperX HPC does not have a JEDEC standard for running at 500 (1000 DDR) so it defaults to 800 until I manually set it - but I had to remove the OC to get 700 installed, so I saved my settings to a profile and then loaded the BIOS defaults - it was faster than changing things by hand

So, technically, your RAM is running faster than mine.
