    Application History


    For me the only thing that bothers me about this feture is WMP and VLC all have a Recent tab easy accessible with a single click and you can see what someone has watched.

    Can I turn this future off?

    I am not sure about VLC, but for WMP the procedure is as follows:
    1. Open WMP.
    2. Click Organize and then Options...
    3. Select the Privacy tab.
    4. The options you require are listed under History.

    Thanks for your reply, but I found another way which did what I wanted


    Start Menu>Properties

    In the Privacy box uncheck "Store and display recently used items....."

Hello, So my ie8 got buggy with its history, to solve this I went to Tools->internet options-> delete history. This solved the bugs. Now prior to my deletion, I went to C:\->Users->{user name}->app data->local->Microsoft and copied the folder named History (60+ megs). I pasted it on...
And now I am so screwed. I can't even open services.msc, I can't install an update, I can't run updates and I can't re enable anything because I can't get into services to do it. Please don't say system restore because I disabled it. If you say get a mac, then yes, I agree!:D
Is there a way to have start->run history kept while not keeping a history of the recently launched programs from the menu? I know under the properties you have "Store and display recently opened programs in the Start menu", but this is what controls both. I'm figuring theres probably some...
