How to remove $WINDOWS.~Q file after repair install

    How to remove $WINDOWS.~Q file after repair install


    Have the subject file ($WINDOWS.~Q) in my C: folder....how do you totally remove this...and what is it exactly ?

    Hello Tim,

    The C:\WINDOWS.~Q folder is part of Files discarded by Windows upgrade. You can use Disk Cleanup to remove it. :)

    Disk Cleanup - Open and Use

    Thanks as always fir the quick response Brink...have tried that and it was not removed...will try again and post back...

    Did you reboot after running Windows 7 disc cleanup. You will notice a slight delay on reboot while the clean up is being done.
