How to remove $WINDOWS.~Q file after repair install

    How to remove $WINDOWS.~Q file after repair install


    Have the subject file ($WINDOWS.~Q) in my C: folder....how do you totally remove this...and what is it exactly ?

    Hello Tim,

    The C:\WINDOWS.~Q folder is part of Files discarded by Windows upgrade. You can use Disk Cleanup to remove it. :)

    Nope...folder still there in jpg attached

    Did you reboot after running Windows 7 disc cleanup. You will notice a slight delay on reboot while the clean up is being done.

Amateur alert! I reinstalled win 7, downloaded the install iso file and mounted/ran it from usb stick. Successfully. But now the usb stick cant be used for anything else. Content wont be deleted. Is there a guide somewhere to unmount/delete the content so the usb can be used for "normal"...
