    more SSD tuning issues.

Have 240gb Samsung evo840 ssd with windows 7 on it. I followed the suggestions from the samnsung magician and reduced my paging file size (on the ssd) to the custom range of 200-2000 MB. after rebooting Windows tells me it has created a temporary Paging file due to a configuration error (on my part, presumably). When I look at the virtual storage settings it shows as 8GB, even though it does not show up on any of my drives(as displayed in the settings!?!??

Anybody know what gives any further tips on tuning my settings for my new SSD??

You need a minimum of 800MB, I believe, of Page file to write memory dumps in case of system failure. If you do not use it, you can disable hibernate, it will also save you the size of your ram in disk space. Set defragment to manual (just uncheck defragment on a schedule), but you will need to occasionally manually check your Mechanical Hard drives. Under no circumstances do you ever defragment an SSD, which is why you set defragment to manual.
Did you do a clean install and do you have your sata controller in bios set to AHCI? If not, do not change it or your system won't boot. Please post a screenshot of disk management. Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image

Iset the Paging file to 800-2000 MB. It seemed to take it. When I rebooted I again got a message saying a temp pagiung file was set up by windows because my settings might be too small. Oddly, the file didn't show up in the advanced set paging file dialog, But is was on my D:\ drive(a HDD. The pagefile.sys file is 8Gb!

Maybe I'l just leave it there, I've got plenty of space on that HDD...

    comments??

P.S. The 800-2000Mb paging file DID show up in the page file dialog. The dialog indicated that there was an 8Gb of paging but it didn't show it as being on any HDD

    Open Magician and select Advanced.

All the correct settings will be applied.
