When I windows starts up I am asked to check F

It gives me 10 seconds until it starts and I can press a button to stop it. At 64% it gets kinda stuck too.

Post back a screenshot of Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image.

    What is drive F?

Go ahead and do a full Disk Check on it and all other partitions after backing up your files.

If probs persist run the maker's HD Diagnostic

I suggest that you run the comprehensive tests from your manufacturer's diagnostic bootable disk as well as back up your data. I suspect hard drive failure.

The problem performing a disk check is a bad sign. My suggestion still stands.

Confirm that Disk Mgmt labels read "System Active" on 100mb partition and "Boot" on C.

Please run a full Disk Check on all partitions from the steps in the blue link. This is not the same as the one you were prompted to do.

Then run the maker's HD Diagnostic

Alright, which specific disk checks should I do? Is it the same one greg wants me to do?

I can confirm that system active and boot are in the right places. I will run the disc check soon, which boxes do you want me to tick though in the box?

There seems to be quite a few options here...

Tick both boxes which is a full Disk Check. Note it must be run on all partitions.
