It is generally best to post screnshots as suggested. Many members will avoid links to off site screenshots.

The explorer.exe file is located in the folder C:\Windows. In other cases, explorer.exe is a virus, spyware, trojan or worm!

freefixer will find ieexplorer modules and their ultimate source, and, might just identify the source of this memory hog!

(If the infection root source shows up , can also slate it for high priority deletion upon next bootup)

Here is the manual, it does nothing automatically, the user must choose which things will be deleted, so is quite safe.

I'd also recommend Comodo's CCE package, or at least the Autoruns.exe portion....

Comodo's autoruns will very clearly show if there is more than one explorer.exe starting/running, the only valid one slated for startup within the Win7 registry should clearly show under C:\Windows\explorer.exe for it's path...

As long as this infection has not had it's status evevated to NT Authority, it should be able to have it's process terminated, and, be scheduled for deletion...

I'd also nominate this (and similar threads) be moved to the Security section, as this is likely a new infection/virus/malware of some sort, as of yet unnamed/unidentified beyond "extra explorer.exe mem hog" (Patent pending!)
